Swanson Center Donor Quilt Unveiled!

ImageThe Swanson Center donor wall quilt was put on display to celebrate and honor the many, many generous people who have given to The Reuben T. & Darlene M. Swanson Retreat Center. Dave Coker, NLOM Executive Director said, "First and foremost, we wanted to thank, honor and show appreciation for all of these amazingly generous people. The idea of using a quilt to do so fits so well with who we are. It seemed a perfect fit for a donor appreciation wall!"

The quilt, designed and crafted by Ashland-based art quilter, Peg Pennell, features an artistic rendition of a burr oak tree, common at Carol Joy Holling, as well as the names of donors who contributed $5,000 or more toward the Swanson Retreat Center. Quilted wall hangings, made by volunteers, are featured in all of the sleeping rooms at The Swanson Center.

What does NLOM mean to you?

My heartfelt “Thank you” to all of the NLOM staff. You will probably never know the degree of difference you are making in young people’s lives. I thought I was just having a great time at camp. Little did I know that I was literally learning the skills to survive.
