Seasons of Change: Celebrating Volunteers and God’s Creation

Nov 25, 2024 | Carol Joy Holling Camp, Sullivan Hills

Changing colors of the leaves is a beautiful site as I drive into camp. The beauty of God is truly amazing every day.

I am also in awe of the turkeys and deer as I wait for them to cross the road as I come into camp. Again, another beauty of God’s Creation.

I love to embrace the season of fall, the giving season, and a time to celebrate our volunteers that help so immensely here at camp.

These volunteers help us fulfill our mission Faith: Alive!

Just as the vibrant colors of fall remind us of change, they also remind us of a season of renewal and generosity.

We are seeing many retreat guests coming to Carol Joy Holling Camp for renewal and planning time. Our volunteers greet them and welcome them to camp.

Our volunteers are eager to put together mailings to help us promote our capital campaign, another way for both of our camps to embrace that season of change.

Volunteers are also putting together our promotional mailings to help us bring campers of all ages to our camps next summer to learn more about Jesus and form those friendships for a lifetime…another way for our camps to embrace that season of change.

A recent volunteer told me, “It warms my heart to watch NLOM flourish and grow and to be bringing so many people here to be refreshed and learn that people there love them.”

God’s creation, God’s renewal, God’s love is surrounding us everywhere, and it is happening because we have many volunteers who love to come and help promote us.

So far this year, 77 volunteers have given more than 400 hours of their time to help our organization.

Thank you to these wonderful individuals who dedicate their time, skills, and resources to help our camps make a difference in so many lives.

If you would like to share your gifts as a volunteer, please reach out to Lisa Stirtz, Volunteer Coordinator at LStirtz@NLOM.org or 402-944-2544.
